It has been a while...

The last bit of 2023 and ALL of 2024 were not great. My spouse suffered a life impacting medical issue and that just took over my life. All I did was survive.
Things have started improving in 2025 (knock on wood.)
In an effort to get back to enjoying my life, self, and art I have decided to take a hiatus from selling art. I am not sure when I will go back to vending. I have been on the Burn out Bus for so long (close to 2 years) that I don't know how long it will take me to get back to enjoying the stresses of vending.
I have started to enjoy creating art again. It is so lovely to sit down and just create stuff without the pressures of thinking about if people will like it or want to buy it. It is also great to know that I don't have to make things for a specific event's vibe or planning on what I need to make prints of to bring with me to a location. I have so much more brain space now.
I kind of want to get back to doing this blog on a regular basis. I like being able to share what I have been up to. I am under no illusions that anyone will ever read or see the blog post, but shouting into the void is therapeutic in a weird way.
New things in my life for 2025 January - February:
My employer merged with a larger company in the same field. I am working more hours (in part to help recover from 2024.) It is a nice company and I am still learning how to do my job with their software and goals. January was ROUGH learning, meeting my co-workers, and helping my previous employer close-up shop. It was a rocky start with tech issues and I caught the WORST cold I have ever had.
Art wise was slow. I did create a few things that I am proud of. Some POSCA illustrations. I don't have scans or pics I can share in this blog, but you can find them on my Instagram. To show that I am actually getting along with my co-workers one inspired me to do a series of digital doodles. In line with the Adventures of Sir Lemon, these are the Adventures of Tiny Brain, a tiny human brain that lives in a Barbie sized world. It is kind of a fun look at just surviving when you feel like most of your brain has been taken over and you can barely function. Some of the images are below.
I will 'see' you next time!
